Hello! My name is Kendra Sanders, and I’m excited to welcome you to my e-Portfolio. My academic journey at the University of Central Florida has been shaped by a desire to approach challenges from multiple perspectives. I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a minor in Mass Media and Education. This blend of disciplines aligns with my passion for exploring how media and education can intersect to create meaningful change.

But my story is more than just my coursework—it’s a mosaic of experiences that have shaped who I am today.

At just five years old, I was adopted from the foster system into a family of over 16 kids—a kaleidoscope of ethnicities, each adding their own thread to the tapestry of my life. Growing up in such a diverse and dynamic environment taught me the beauty of unity in diversity, and it sparked my love for connecting with people from all walks of life.

By seven, I faced and overcame stage 4 malignant melanoma skin cancer. That battle didn’t just teach me resilience—it gave me an enduring gratitude for life and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity.

Fast forward to today, I’m not only a student but also a full-time leasing professional and marketing coordinator for one of the largest property management companies in Orlando, Florida. When I’m not working or studying, you’ll find me traveling with my partner, immersing myself in different cultures, and creating memories that inspire my personal and professional growth.

Through it all, I’ve realized that my passion lies in social work. This field allows me to combine my love for understanding people with my drive to make a difference. Whether it’s through psychology, public health, or education, I aim to bridge gaps and foster meaningful connections. My ultimate goal is to become a school counselor or child therapist, helping young people navigate life’s challenges with empathy and understanding.

I bring to the table not only my academic background but also years of professional experience as an accountant and leasing professional, which have honed my skills in problem-solving, communication, and adaptability. My philosophy is rooted in empathy, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth.
